So well, umm hmmm...the war doesnt antaganize terrorists, according to our great leader. Right...yes...constantly blowing up people and decimating their land and dictating what their policies should be would NEVER antaganize anyone, I mean when they knocked down some of our buildings, we all took it in stride. No one here wanted to put a boot in anyone's ass. We didn't go and beat up Hindus (not Muslims, really? you mean they arent the same?). We didn't come up with the thinnest reasons for a war that we have stupidly, steadfastly and unflinchingly clung to. I'm really glad everything in Washington and elsewhere is so Sensible.
Any port in storm...etc etc
And one other thing...they LOVE us over there? Or have we forgotten? They appreciate EVERYTHING we're doing for THEM. They love us so much they fucking hate us. Cue 3 Doors Down I feel a new national anthem coming on.

Erm, you can't antaganize a primitive, displacing one is like relocating a paperweight on your desk--its whats best for real people, the ones who matter; every circle has a center.
And cue Jeff Tweedy, har har har
who cares abut bush's pointless yapping mouth---the real jackass award of late goes to the dipshit pope... what the hell good does it do for the leader of the infidels to go on about how Mohammad was evil?! talk about projecting misery... Thanks asshole, three steps closer to th holy war
I just hate everyone in a position of authority. They're all fucked up and stupid and ooze hate. I'm seriously starting to think that you can't fathom what love is and still hold such power...especially a representative of a nation of millions or, y'know, GOD.
I am having similar feelings, d.
Tim, you know...what else can I say but I agree with 100% of my being.
And D, what can I say but I agree with 100% of my being
rich I totally agree with you agreeing with me!
(btw: there MUST be better bands in DC than this.................)
And Tim Im glad theres so much agreeance going around.
the DC one aint so hot? Thats a damn shame I was looking forward to picking it up
speaking of people in authority---or at least the opposite of that:
man, we could sure use an infusion of some great new rock bands in the world..
i dont think its very good...the bands are littered with the remnance of that band "The Make Up" for one thing. and theres one band thats a clay of that one band from a few years ago that was called something like "vertical horizon".. the evens is really good and real but very short. bob mould does a great song from his Sugar days. and Brendan plays BASS for a band called Garland of Hours; the song is not good but its cool to see Brendan standing! and the burning of the house is neat. and the last shot is of the fireplace and nothing else standing; take that william blake!
Man you REALLY need to see the Portland one. Its done RIGHT. And the Wet Confetti RULE!
You heard it here first folks, remember the name.
Of course between the great Mould, the even greater Ian and Brendan standing I think I'll buy the thing anyway.
BTW, speaking of Mr Mould, did anyone notice that song of his on Falling Deep 3? Read the lyrics, its a fucking masterpiece, one of the most impressive and intelligent songs ever written.
Are we talking about some comp here? I'm confused...but I love the Evens.
Oh wait, rereading it, I figured it out. Never mind.
Mirah played "Light the Match" on the Portland one. I thought that was cute.

D, I never put the Light The Match thing together, clever clever. I was just thrilled she was playing a song I love.
as opposed to a song of hers i dont love, right. Cuz I only like two or three. Which is I why I listen to her all the time and have all thiose live shows and hunt down every obscure compilation shes ever appeared on. Cuz Im a sadist!
Oh, and the November edition of Falling Deep (which will be Falling Deep 7) will be the request edition. So, think it over gals guys and trannies. Place your request and I will find the song if I dont already have it, and enjoy it in November!
Yeah, it seems like she was the only one who put any thought into it further than, "Oh, we'll just play our new single." (Sleater-Kinney, I'm looking at you.)
Speaking of SK, I was watching footage from their last few shows on YouTube last night. When the fuck did Corin start wearing 80s prom dresses, or whatever the hell that ensemble was?
Aww heck, I thought S-K did a really good job, they were infinitely better than they were on conan, letterman et al. And I liked how Carrie and Corin were saying stuff to each other and how Janet came in through the window. That was cool!
I'm not saying it wasn't a good performance...but they have plenty of songs about burning and fire. Know what I mean?
Abandoned houses are awesome, though. I got to go through an abandoned town in Iowa this weekend. My dumb ass forgot my camera, but Matt took some amazing photos.
"The Shaggs love you, and love to perform for you. You may love their music or you may not, but whatever you feel, at last you know you can listen to artists who are real."
And that about sums up the ethos of Falling Deep 5 which I just finished listening to. And it includes a song by The Shaggs! The disc is fuckin great, Im excited to send it out, you will all LOVE IT.
hey man how do we know the shags are for real? and how can we trust that they love us? how do we know its not a scam without having to hear them??
you can't. Hear it and it is obvious. And thats the story of thats the glory of...art
what would George wein say about that?
He'd say "hubba dubba dubba" and then humourfully walk into the large birthday cake. And then back up into the two gus carrying the plane of glass across the street.
And then mug to camera while covered in frosting and broken glass and shrug and say "Whoops, I really dood it this time"!
