From the soundtrack of a film that Mirah did with Spectratone International (formerly known as the Black Cat Orchestra) all about insects. I like this, I can't wait to hear the rest.

Richard said...

Yeah we got ours on Saturday.

We get a new shower & tub on Wednesday.

Good morning everyone.

Jackie said...

good morning!

i got my state tax return, life rules.

Richard said...

Oh, Deanna did you get your teeth pulled?

Deanna said...

No, I did not get a tooth pulled. But I did get a tooth drilled into and the nerve scraped out.

I'm really glad this shit is tax deductible, because my stupid mouth has almost cost me a grand this year.

Deanna said...

I'm also home from work today. Stupid cold.

Jackie said...

"the weirdness" is the only cd that gets stuck in my player in my car. now that's weird! har har.

Jackie said...

rich you better be busy at work, because i'm kinda bored online.

Richard said...

#2 when i signed on before you werent anywhere to be found!

Jackie said...

well i'll be on tommorow (well today, since you'll be reading this on tuesday). so let's talk! unless you are busy, then you should work of course.

Richard said...

Sorry about yesterday D, we were celebrating my fatehrs birthday.

Richard said...

and ummm tonight isnt looking too rosy either...are you free wednesday night?

Deanna said...

Tell your dad I said happy birthday!

Wednesday should be good...I might still be at work when you call, the way this week is going...

Richard said...

i will.

so, who else is pissed the white stripes ARENT doing another 3 night stand at the auditorium theater in august?

Deanna said...

I'm pissed! But perhaps they still will?

Only when I stay home from work do I have the best music ever. Knitting goes well with the Red Crayola--accounting does not.

que ferions-nous sans vous pour nous guider? said...

twhen in august will they be here? i can't find any info on ticketmaster

Deanna said...

But Bjork is playing at the Auditorium in May, I'm so going to that.

Deanna said...

Rich, have you heard the Joe Byrd and the Field Hippies record? There are quite a few copies of the vinyl reissue on ebay, I'm thinking about picking one up.

Richard said...

I know fuck all about it Deanna. Let me know how it is.

Liz--- the White Stripes ARENT touring here in august. We have no idea when theyll be here.

Jackie said...

you know what would be nice? if uic would offer the classes i need to graduate. you see, there is this one photo history class that, though isn't required, is preferred over other art (non photo) history classes, BUT THEY HAVEN'T OFFERED IT FOR OVER THREE YEARS!!! then... there is one class that actually is required for graduation, but again, they haven't offered it for over three years.

but, if all goes well, then i will graduate in december of 2008 cuz i only have 40 hours left!!!

Jackie said...

that sucks liz! i hope that doesn't happen to me, yikes.

que ferions-nous sans vous pour nous guider? said...

no... i think it is a phenomenon isolated in the art + design school. megha and lindsay never complained of anything like it. and a few people i work with went to uic for a few semesters and none of them have gone through this. i think you'll be safe in liberal arts and sciences!

don't forget to let us know when they accept you! was is for fall 2007 or spring 2008?

Jackie said...

for the fall. the deadline for transfer students is march 31st. and i have everything sent in as of yesterday.

Richard said...

I speak for everyone here when I say "hurray"!

que ferions-nous sans vous pour nous guider? said...

yes you do, hon...

so jackie, are you excited to see the gossip with me in april? are you going to the true colors show in june? i'm just wondering... i'm not going to both. just seeing if you were.

Deanna said...

Yay Jackie! Yay Liz (for being close to being finished, that is)! Have you checked to see if you could do an equivalent independent study to take the place of those requirements, since they haven't been offered in so long? I don't know how UIC is about such things, but some schools are pretty flexible.

Tech had Japanese listed in the catalog as a language option, even though by the time I started there the professor who'd taught it had left the school like five years prior. I think they finally removed it as an option during my third year.

Deanna said...

Also, my dingbat landlords didn't extend my sublease to July like I had requested before I moved in. So I'm now living in an apartment with an expired lease. Details at 11.

Jackie said...

of course im excited to see the gossip! i might have a job then, so im gonna have to lie through my teeth to come that weekend, haha.
part of me wants to see the true colors tour, but part of me doesnt, so we'll see. but if you are going, now i might!

so here i am working my ass off at work and i take a little break to stroll around wikipedia for a bit and for whatever reason decide to read the article on sleater-kinney (which isnt very good, imagine that), and they the linsk one of which is to the village voice. So this chick wrote a nice goodbye to them for the Voice, but like the reader comments were the duechiest snottiest most condescneding thing i ever read. really weird. if you have nothing to do, check out the bad attitudes for yourself. Real head scratchers.

Anonymous said...

god, those comments are sad. i almost feel like someone is making fun of my best friend right to my face. people are such jerks.

Anonymous said...

oops, thats me, jackie.

Deanna said...

Wow, someone completely rehauled that Wikipedia entry recently...I remember correcting something on it a few months back (the famous "We're not here to fuck the band, we ARE the band" quote from Corin was attributed to an opening stint for--of all fucking people--Neil Young, instead of JSBX). And when did Corin ever play a baritone guitar? I know she had some effects pedals that would lower the pitch by an octave, but I never saw or heard her play anything other than a standard 6-string.

I remember that VV article. Some people are really bored on the internet if all they can think to do one day is write stupid comments about a band they don't like. And I happen to enjoy Be Your Own Pet...

Richard said...

Yeah i remember the earlier s-k entry, which while it was "fact-phobic" weas at least longer and more entertaining. They went from lousy to lousier

it's thundering and raining here, it's great! and i don't have to pick up my grandma from the beauty parlor, so everything is coming up jackie.

Richard said...

2 (two) things...

1- The new album Mary Weiss is really good. It gets MY seal of approval. You should pick it up and while yr at it grab that copy of the Shangri-Las Greatest Hits you KNOW you should own.

2- OUTSTANDING Stooges video interview (okay, Iggy actually does all the talking, Ron laughs a little, and Scott gives a thumbs up at Iggy's mention of the White Stripes) on rollingstone.com---it's certainly as good as the video interview Tim mentioned here a few weeks back. And I for one agree with ALL of Iggy's statements especially the part about "pure souls". PREACH THE TRUTH BROTHER!

Jackie said...

good to know about the mary weiss album, i would like to get it.

Deanna said...

Sure, I'm free! I'll probably have to go into work that day (if I still have a job, that is) so what time would be best?

que ferions-nous sans vous pour nous guider? said...

well, evening, i guess. what time are you going to work?

Deanna said...

Hopefully early in the morning...so I can get as much done as possible and get the fuck out of there.

Jackie said...

good morning all of you good looking people!
