Buyer beware: The DJ is annoying, so carefully fast forward.

Thanks Deanna

So, well...it looks I'm making two "box sets", 1) Mirah for Kate (or K8 as she used to spell it way back when), and 2) The unending epic Lennon set for Tim (or Miles Michele Shustuski as was his nom de avant garde way back when).

You should find a way to mp3 that new song and include it in the Mirah box.

Richard said...

yes, i should. and deanna most of the mirah thing is re-hashing what you burned for me half a decade ago.

D said...

And that is a-ok. Spread her everywhere!

I think we should start throwing parties on the birthdays of people we admire. Ian Curtis's birthday is July 17. What do y'all think?

Richard said...

not a bad idea...but maybe we should have someone more erm "festive" for the innaugural one?

Ian Curtis wrote beautiful music that is completely misunderstood, and you know it. It is moving and observant and fucking real, regardless of the perceived tenor. So I think he's just as appropriate as Lennon or Joyce or Bette Davis.

But yeah, if you can think of someone with an earlier birthday, I'm all for it. I like the idea of randomly celebrating people's lives, the more the better!

I wasnt thinking about music, I was thinking about the whole suicide at 24 thing doesnt set the best vibe for party material the first time out. Just as if we were celebrating some electrician who offed themselves at 30 or whatever. I mean Im all for celebrating someone's life and art, but you know his suicide was so premeditated and woven into his life. Its just kind of a downer to start off with. Id still go of course. not like id protest it, har har

Well, like I said, if we find someone else with an earlier birthday (which can't be THAT hard), we can start with them instead.

Richard said...

yeah seriously, I think we can scrounge someone up

The interview was bad enough, and she couldn't get song titles or album titles right. At least Mirah was awesome, and I still LOVE that new song.
