I like that flute.did you guys get that email message from the white stripes.the subject is: "?"and the message is: ""The tricks of today are the truths of tomorrow." - Man RayX XV MMVII"
Yes I got that message. One can only wonder why
So something's happening Monday, I take it?
Ok, I'll go WAY over the line. Maybe this means Meg actually IS going to in a porno tape.Get your credit cards ready!
Direct by Michel Gondry, probably. Which means it'll be a like a blurry shot of a pubic hair and a close up of Brendan Branson's tounge. Then there'll be colors flashing in the sky and a ghost will emerge and give out candy cane condoms. THE END.
As always pitchfork kills both the mystery and the fun..."Flip over to the White Stripes' MySpace blog or the news section of their website, and you'll be greeted with a cryptic note containing a question mark, a quote from pioneering experimental photographer Man Ray ("The tricks of today are the truths of tomorrow") and a roman numeral. That numeral, X XV MMVII, seemed to be tipping us off to some kind of goings-on on October 15, 2007. But what?Cameras! Find the accompanying question mark on the site, and it reveals that, at 12 PM EST on the 15th (Monday), the White Stripes will begin taking orders for the his'n'hers cameras depicted above. There's the "Meg" Diana camera, which comes with a custom filter and a ringflash accessory (which produces a unique appearance of a 3D shadow on the images), or the "Jack" Holga camera, with custom filters and a fisheye lens accessory. What's more, the first 333 folks to order both cameras get a "mystery gift". Please say it's a lenscap! Both cameras appear to be of the lomographic variety, a type of instrument which tends to produce images with particularly vivid colors, strange exposures, and a lot of weird unintended effects. They're really neat!"So alas, no porno of either the abstract or the cell phone clip variety. Another crushing disappointment.
ok after watching american hardcore, i feel like i need to re-evaluate everything i listen to. i should be more into this than i am. but it's so overwhelming!
i just found american hardcore for $7 actually. i'm amazing.
Im thrilled you liked that film, Jackie. I think they overall did a great job.The only reason the Dead Kennedys and Misfits werent in there were copyright shit issues. Also, the Germs should have been more covered. But whatever, its so fnatastic. When you say you had to re-evaluate, thats right. People get mad when I say I cant tolerate certain things because of what I know and what Ive experienced. But it's true. One can't tolerate X after theyve seen a whole lotta Y & Z.
so come online and talk to me! im just sitting around watching scary movies by myself, haha.
I have an interview in an hour and a half and I haven't even gotten dressed yet. Man, I'm a slacker.
good luck deanna!
You have my sincerest hopes it's going well, D.Best of luck.
Thanks guys, but it was just an interview for Northwestern's temp service.Jackie, how's sunny Florida treating you?
well i miss the midwest but other than that, it's going pretty good.
Hey, you stop missing it when it's -3 here and 70 there!
Well, looks like P4K is starting the Adrian Orange backlash--I'm surprised they didn't give the record a 0.0. It's one of the most juvenile reviews I've ever read.
I havent read it yet, but theyre starting the backlash before they even had the chance to start the ass kissing? They're lapping themselves!
just wanted to see my icon... ahhhhhhh.
Oh, thats a really cool one.
why thank you.the fucking dog just ran away from me when i was outside, that little motherfucker.
did you get him back?
yeah i got him back, but i had to like jump him and grab him, which sucked. then when i got him back, he wouldn't budge, i had to like physically pull him back to the apartment.
what a little fucker.
hey d, sherman alexie will be at the borders in oak park on november 7, and at the barnes and noble in skokie on november 8. it's for a book he just released for teens, but i still want to go. do you want to go with me again one of those days?
Sure, I'll go with you Liz!
I might go as well.
It's down to me and one other person for that job I interviewed for last week. Yay!
good luck, d!!!
hi everyonebecause of my increasing insomnia, i have succumb to watching softcore porn on hbo and cinemax. this shit is amazing.there are two films i am currently flipping between channels for: bikini pirates and bikini round-up. although i have yet to see any bikinis yet. 1. most (heterosexual, although i wouldn't call the "lesbian" scenes very lesbian) sex scenes consist of man going down on woman, woman going down on man, fucking to completion. oh yeah and a lot of weird licking. and a whole bunch of inordinate rubbing here and there or dry humping.2. in one scene a guy "finishes" and says, "do i have any clean socks" to his wife. wow. i laughed out loud so hard i wish other people could be watching this with me or i knew someone to harass at 2 am and tell them about it.but this is the forum i chose. if anything else comes up, i'll be sure to let you all know. i have a feeling i just won't sleep tonight.oh wait, now there is a long haired guy and a blond woman fucking in a barn. but it's the same hetero pattern still.
now there is absolutely amazing real breasts.bikini pirates it is!
no wait!this girl is fucking this guy and she took a gun and shot it in the air several times.bikini round-up is slowly becoming the winner!
Well Jackie, keep an eye out for Busty Cops Part 2. They say the original is better than the sequel. Bullshit! Busty Cops Part 2 is a modern classic that both D and Liz will also testify to.The best part of the film is actually the interview at the end. I have it on tape, to be preserved forever and ever.
Good luck, D. We're pulling for you!
Oh, what's the job for?
has anyone seen the photos on the white stripes site that were taken with their special cameras? they're pretty cool. i want both cameras, but if i can only have one then i want meg's, since it had that pinhole lens.
--Yes Jackie, Busty Cops 2 is pretty awesome...and gruesome.--Rich, the job is for a media agency. It's for quasi accounting stuff, but it sounds a lot less mind-numbing than the last job. It actually seems like a decent place to work.I'm starting a temp gig at Northwestern next week that pays really well. Yay!--Liz, I want those cameras too, but they'd probably end up sitting in my closet, unused. Plain Holga cameras are a lot cheaper. But at least the Stripes are having cameras made (and encouraging their audience to create things) instead of just licensing their songs to commercials for a few quick bucks.
aw, hon. the two coreys are no more. how unfortunate, huh?
Yeah Im really choked up about the whole thing. Heartbreaking.
http://www.old-picture.com/theme-index-001.htmthis is a really really great website that has old timey pictures. you can search for all kinds of different things (i did wisconsin and found some amazing ones). just thought you would all enjoy it.
i was just told that i bear a striking resemblance to jay leno.luckily it was through email and not in person, otherwise i would have laughed in their face!
i found an old picture of queretaro at that site, jackie. thanks.
you are welcome my dear.
That website is fantastic.
on tuesday after class (so around 6:30-6:45), simone and i are going to have dinner, or at least some coffee, and you are invited to join us deanna. we were thinking we'd stay around uic, but if you can't get so far then maybe we can meet you somewhere in the middle. and sometime before the semester is over we will have to take her to my pie. she hasn't had any chicago pizza yet.
Well, I'll be working in Evanston next week until 5, so I'll at least be able to take the Purple line down. I don't know how long that will take, though.
what do you do in evanston?
i always meant to ask you this rich... are you related to kate millett at all? author of sexual politics?it's a long shot, but i just thought i would ask, haha.oops, almost forgot the second T!
I'll be working for Northwestern's school of journalism, filling in for someone who's on leave.Looking at the RTA trip planner, I should be able to be down by UIC by 6:30 to 7...but if y'all want to meet somewhere else, that's cool too.
you can make your own freakin' mst3k robots!http://www.joecrow.com/botzmain.htm
No, Im not related to Kate Millett. I am somehow supposedly related to ronald reagan though.
which is akin to being related to jeffrey dahmer or joseph goerbels
Alice Bag, formerly of the legendary late 70's LA punk group The Bags has a weblog here on blogger! It's really interesting, and she's really cool. You'll probably enjoy reading it!<1>http://alicebag.blogspot.com<1>
So the Springsteen show tonight isn't sold out...should I go for it?
d, do you think you could make it to dinner on tuesday? it's no big deal if you can't.... just seein'.
Yeah, I think I could...but that still doesn't help me decide to see BRUCE or not!
i say go for it!
Ehn, I'm too tired...I'll show some restraint.
oh yeah... see you tomorrow! and i'll buy your dinner, too, since you were kind enough to help me last night.
the darjeeling limited was so good! im pretty sure i'm happier now just having seen it.
Where should I meet you, Liz?
I've only listened to it once, but I think Chrome Dreams II is really beautiful. Really outstanding. It's one of the best sounding records I've heard in ages, it's hard to believe the production team of Young & Bolas were also responsible for such hideous atrocities of sound in the late 80's. The depth and richness is just incredible. I'll be playing it alot.
