that guitar is beautiful indeed!
Glad you like it! This has become one of my favourite songs ever. That guitar, those goddamn perfect ever shifting lyrics, the seesaw melody, the wandering flute, and then the crowning touch, those sleigh bells at the end. Gets me EVERY time.By the way, reading the Dylan interview. The transfiguration stuff is interesting. Real.
Real. Real. Real. "that mystical realm."
Oh and the bells I can't believe I forgot to mention the bells!!!
This is very beautiful. Very much so.
Looking at the covers makes me remember my brother had the Forever Changes album when I was a kid.
Wow, thats really cool. Do you remember hearing it alot then? It's funny, that record took me longer than any other album ever to recognize as a masterpiece. I loved individual songs, and respected its ambition. But it took a long damn time (years and years) before the full impact of its (theres that word again) beauty really got to me. Between side one of Da Capo, all of Forever Changes (which according to Arthur Lee is ACTUALLY called Love Forever Changes) and a few things on Four Sail, my God, what a body of work. And there's still a ton of stuff by Love I havent even touched yet. Own it, just havent done the deep listening required.
I can't say I really remember but I used to look through and steal his albums all the time. When he wasn't home, I would take anything I could and listen to it. But I definitely remember thinking this was a beautiful album cover.
